The Ten Minute Lecture Series!

Every person has knowledge to share. This is the idea that drives free skooling, and the success of the Portland Free Skool depends on all of us gathering to share our talents and abilities. But, it can be intimidating to attend a class, much less teach one, so let’s start small.

Each lecture series will feature 5 short talks, each 10 minutes in length, given by free skoolers on a wide miscellany of topics–how to make a friendship bracelet, what the stars are made of, history of the haiku, how to grow garlic, facts about Nicolas Cage–it’s in your head, so you chose. The idea is, we will all learn something new, sharpen our public speaking skills, meet new wonderful folk, and get a taste of what free skooling is all about. And, of course, have fun.

Each ten minute slot will be scheduled by RSVP. Please e-mail Liz at amduet@gmail.com with your date of choice, topic, and brief bio that will be used to introduce your lecture. The first session has only two openings, and I hope to see the later dates fill up fast.

1: February 18, 2:00 pm
2: March 18, 2:00 pm
